6 People, Including Baby, Killed In California Shooting: Six people were slain early on Monday when gunmen opened fire at a home in California, including a six-month-old baby and its teen mother, according to police officials.
Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux recounted to media a gruesome crime, a “targeted” attack that may be related to gang and drug violence.
The home was reportedly attacked by two people at 3:30 a.m. Monday, according to the police. When the police were summoned by a neighbour, they discovered dead and dying persons both inside and outside the home when they got there seven minutes later.

The 17-year-old mother and her six-month-old infant were both shot in the head, Boudreaux said, adding that the entire situation was sad.
Two persons managed to evade the attack by taking refuge within the structure, and first responders provided emergency medical care to numerous of the injured. A wounded person passed away immediately after being taken to the hospital.
According to the sheriff, drugs appeared to be a factor in the attack. “We also think that this was not an act of brutality committed at random. We think that this family was a target,” he stated.

We suspect gang connections and possible drug investigations are involved in this incident,” the statement said, noting that his department had “conducted narcotics search warrants at this property” a week before.
About halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, in the San Joaquin Valley, is the city of Tulare, which has 70,000 residents. In the United States, 49,000 persons died from gunshot wounds in 2021; more than half of these deaths were suicides.
