Cobra Kai season 5 release date

Season 5 of Cobra Kai is set to premiere on Netflix on September 9. Normally, the show’s episodes are released between December and January. All of the season’s episodes are expected to be released at the same time. Seasons aren’t being split like on Stranger Things, so don’t expect that here.

Season 5 of Cobra Kai isn’t only about karate pranks in L.A. With his son Robby, Johnny heads south to find Miguel, who ran away from home at the end of the fourth season.

Cobra Kai season 5 cast

For the upcoming fifth season of Cobra Kai, we may expect the following cast members to return:

  • Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso
  • William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence
  • Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz
  • Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso
  • Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene
  • Jacob Bertrand as Eli ‘Hawk’ Moskowitz
  • Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso
  • Peyton List as Tory Nichols
  • Martin Kove as John Kreese

Season 4 welcomed newcomer Terry Silver from The Karate Kid III. Every season, they appear to bring back a major figure. Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence have never met the next big celebrity in Cobra Kai Season 5.

The Next Karate Kid starred Academy Award winner Hilary Swank. Mr. Miyagi taught her martial arts for her role as troubled young Julie Pierce.

Julie is canon in the Miyagi verse, and her name has been discussed in the writing room. Swank wants to join Cobra Kai. A return for Season 5 would be wonderful!

Annais Rojas has joined the cast, but her character is unknown to certain fans. She started releasing behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the event to her Instagram account in January 2022.

Here’s her post: “Grateful for such moments,” she writes (through Google Translate). “Cobra Kai Season 5 allowed me to work with folks who shared my aims.”

Cobra Kai Season 5 plot

As a result of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver is growing the Cobra Kai empire and striving to make his “No Mercy” brand of karate a one-stop shop for all of the Valley’s martial artists.” Johnny Lawrence has put his karate skills on hold to focus on the harm he has created, so Daniel LaRusso must turn to an old buddy for assistance now that Kreese is in prison.

Co-creator Hayden Schlossberg claimed in an interview with GamesRadar+ that “We’ve recently shot season 5” back in December 2021. That led to a season five conclusion that is, I don’t want to say grander, but there is a lot of action in the season five finale.

Since Season 4 marked a significant shift for Cobra Kai, Season 5 will almost certainly deal with the implications of that shift, suggesting that the next season will be more centrally centered.”

Cobra Kai Season 5 is expected to see Daniel, Johnny, and the rest of the crew aiming to finally bring down Terry Silver, despite their issues, according to many fans. Silver now has complete authority over not only Cobra Kai, but the whole karate culture in the San Fernando Valley and beyond.

The last man alive with that much authority over an unruly gang of karate youngsters is Silver, as everyone who knows him will attest. One of the most anticipated scenes of the new season will be if this occurrence is handled.

A Deadline interview with Show Creator Jon Hurwitz also revealed that “Season 4 everyone knew the tournament – Season 5, no one knows where we are heading. That’s because we’ve already achieved our goal. Insanity is rampant; if you’re a fan of the franchise, some familiar names may turn up; there’s a lot of karate in this movie.”

Is Cobra Kai season 5 the final season?

Season 6 hasn’t been confirmed yet, but creators Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg, and Jon Hurwitz have hinted at more.

“It’s evolved but also remained,” Heald told Collider. “We have a strategy. Season 5 is currently in the works. It’s been great bringing in fresh people and storylines.”

Hurwitz said: “We didn’t say how many seasons there would be from the beginning. We always figured it was at least six, but for all the reasons Josh indicated, we’re still figuring out the precise length.”

Schlossberg told Deadline that the series might go beyond a sixth episode if it is successful. “We’ve got a goal,” he added. “We don’t know how many seasons it will take. We’re having a blast making it!” A couple more seasons are planned after that if it gets too tiring for them.
