Anne Rices Mayfair Witches On AMC: As winter comes and you start to feel the cold in your bones, know that it’s not just the season. As the new year begins, the Mayfair Witches are slowly making their way to your house. The new AMC show is based on the three-book series Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice.
It is also called Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice. This is the second show based on Rice’s Immortal Universe. The first was Interview with the Vampire, which was shown on the same network not too long ago.
Mayfair Witches focuses on the first book in the series, The Witching Hour, and tells the story of a neurosurgeon, Dr. Rowan Fielding, who discovers that she is the descendant and heiress of a powerful family of witches who seem to be haunted by a dark spirit.
The show’s executive producers, Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, worked with Mark Johnson, Anne Rice (after she died), and Christopher Rice to make the supernatural fantasy horror show.
This eight-part series and Interview with the Vampire will be shown on AMC in December 2021. This year, the movie Interview with the Vampire came out. At the New York Comic-Con in October 2022, the network announced the official release date and trailer, adding it to their long list of horror shows.
If you thought the supernatural parts of Interview with the Vampire were complicated, wait until you see what happens in Mayfair Witches. Is There A Mayfair Witches Trailer?
The official trailer for Mayfair Witches just came out, and it might remind you of Interview with the Vampire, but there aren’t any zombies that drink blood (or are there?). Most likely, both stories have a dark, gothic feel and a plot with a lot of tension.
The clip gives the impression that, like her other stories, Rice will look at witches’ lives through the eyes of a young, inexperienced witch who will look into the history of the Mayfair family to find out who she is.
The trailer also shows that this fantasy story will be a step up from what we’re used to seeing in the genre. The camera work is both beautiful and strange. It’s like walking through an interactive story.
In addition to the fantastical settings, the series will look at magic, mythology, secret societies, and other mysterious aspects of witchcraft. You can also watch the video clip below, which promotes Rowan as “the key”:
Who Is In The Mayfair Witches Cast?
Mayfair Witches has a great cast because AMC put them all together. Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus), Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Jack Huston are some of the show’s stars. Daddario plays the main character, Dr. Rowan Fielding, a neurosurgeon who finds out that her family is connected to the Mayfair dynasty of witches.
Hamlin plays Cortland Mayfair, the patriarch of the current Mayfair family. Chirisa plays Ciprien Grieve, and Huston plays a shape-shifting entity connected to the witches’ family for hundreds of years. Grieve is not a copy of one of the characters from the first books.
Instead, he is a mix of Michael Curry and Aaron Lightner, two characters from The Witching Hour. Rowan’s mother, Deirdre Mayfair, who he hasn’t seen in a long time, is played by Annabeth Gish. Beth Grant plays Carlotta Mayfair, Ellie Mayfair is played by Erica Gimpel, and Jen Richards plays Jojo.
What Happens in the Mayfair Witches Story?
Mayfair Witches will be based on Anne Rice’s first book in a trilogy about a young neurosurgeon named Rowan from California. Rowan is shocked to discover that her mother, Deirdre, whom she hadn’t seen in years, was the heiress of a famous Mayfair family.
As she learns more about her family’s history and past, she realizes she also has unique skills. Rowan has had to deal with a scary force in her family for generations. This force has been bothering them while they try to get used to her new powers and figure out who she is.
If the show gets picked up for more seasons, the next ones could be based on the following two books in the series. If you think this is interesting, please tell your friends. You can find the latest updates and news about celebrities at techyember.com.
