“Nicki Aycox Raab, my gorgeous, intelligent, fierce, extraordinarily brilliant, and beloved sister-in-law, died yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side. In California, Nicki and Matt enjoyed a beautiful life together. Everyone who knew her adored her, and she was undoubtedly a fighter, Susan Raab Ceklosky wrote.

The native of Oklahoma made her fight with leukemia public. Aycox posted on Instagram in March 2021 with the caption, “I can’t believe my last [three] months. However, it now makes sense. In January and February, I got sick and thought I had COVID. Things did come to a head. I was eventually hospitalized and given the diagnosis of [leukemia]. I want to let everyone know that I’m doing amazingly well and battling chemo. I’ll update you with a better photo of myself and discuss staying optimistic even in the most trying circumstances.

Cast and Creator of Supernatural Pay Respect to the Late Actress Nicki Aycox

The Supernatural clan is paying tribute to one of its own.

The late actress Nicki Aycox, who played the original Meg Masters on the long-running CW show, and who passed away last week at the age of 47, has been remembered by the creator Eric Kripke and several cast members.

“Gutted to hear the great #NickiAycox, our first #MegMasters, passed away,” Kripke tweeted Sunday. “Too young. She was a delight & delivered lines like honey & venom. I marvel at how she made a simple word like ‘lackluster’ legendary.”

Aycox debuted on Supernatural in season 1, and as Meg, the demon’s first human vessel, she quickly won over the audience. Rachel Miner took over the role after Aycox, but Aycox would return for an episode in season 4. The character remained in the fantasy drama for years to come.

“Sending love and light to Nicki’s family and to all who knew and loved her,” Miner tweeted. “She was always putting good out into the world.”

Aycox appeared in his first episode of Supernatural, according to Jim Beaver, who played seasoned monster hunter Bobby Singer and said, “She was a terrific actress and a delightful colleague.”
