Update: Sony has officially confirmed the free PS Plus Essential games for July 2023, confirming the previously reported information.
PlayStation has confirmed the PS Plus Essential game selection for July 2023 following a leak, as is customary. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Endling – Extinction is Forever, and Alan Wake Remastered is among the free games available to PlayStation Plus subscribers in July. The July PS Plus lineup will be available on Tuesday, July 4.

Alan Wake Remastered comes at a reasonable time, as Alan Wake II is due to release on October 17 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. If you’ve never played the original game, the 2021 remaster is worth a look.
The action adventure follows the eponymous thriller novelist as he searches for his missing wife while on vacation in a strange small town. Though the initial game barely dabbles in horror, the sequel appears to be a full-fledged horror game. Alan Wake Remastered will be available on both the PS5 and PS4 platforms.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the 2020 first-person shooter game installment will also be available to PS Plus customers. Cold War is the latest installment in Treyarch and Raven Software’s Black Ops sub-series.
Its narrative is set in the 1980s, including a complete online multiplayer suite and a Zombies mode. The freebie will be the Cross-Gen package, which provides for the PS5 and PS4 editions.
The last free game for July isn’t as well-known as the other two, but it’s highly regarded. Endling – Extinction is Forever cast you as the world’s final mother fox.
Your mission in this harsh environment is to avoid extinction. Endling was published last summer and has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user rating on Steam. The art style is exceptionally stunning and won’t take long to complete. The adventure lasts approximately five hours.
The free games for July will be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, regardless of tier. Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, take advantage of June’s PS Plus offers.
