The renowned drag queen and model is the producer, host, and judge of the popular reality competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race. We could now go on and on about the 62-year-old television personality’s career and countless successes, but we prefer to shift the conversation and examine his personal life.
Despite his well-known tendency to keep his personal life private, we are happy to report that the Emmy-winning presenter has been happily married for many years. So who is RuPaul’s husband? Read on to find out.
Is RuPaul Married?
According to Pink News, RuPaul admitted to Hollywood Today Live in March 2017 that he and Georges LeBar, his longtime partner, had secretly wed on their 23rd anniversary in January. In 1994 on his birthday, I ran into him on the dance floor at Limelight. Therefore, we married this year in January on his birthday, which also happened to be the anniversary of our meeting.
RuPaul described Georges as a “great person” who is uninterested in fame in his views on his marriage to him. Most of the time, he is on the ranch in Wyoming, according to RuPaul. You may not know this, but Georges runs a 60,000-acre farm.
RuPaul stated in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that the couple had not planned to get married, but the results of the 2016 presidential election had caused them to reconsider.
“We thought, we don’t have to get married. But then, in light of what’s happening in the world today, what’s happening in Washington, we thought, you know what? Let’s do it. Let’s do it, because there’s too much at stake with our businesses … so, that’s why we did it,” he explained.
After exchanging vows, RuPaul was adamant that nothing would change in their day-to-day life: “That paper doesn’t mean nothin’!” he announced to Entertainment Tonight. “If you’re devoted to a person, nothing’s gonna change that. And after 23 years, you know, hey, I know him. He knows me. I love him. He’s my favorite person on the planet I’ve met.”
Georges LeBar Hails From Australia And Now Owns A Ranch In Wyoming!
Georges LeBar was born in Australia on January 24, 1973.
He was born and raised in the “Land Down Under” but later traveled to different parts of the world to study fashion and design. On his official website, Georges claims to have attended schools in Miami, New York, and Paris. In his description of his paintings, he says they “reference my history [and] compare it to the present; art is about understanding life for me.” He is also a skilled painter.
While his husband is successful in the entertainment business, Georges wants a life away from the spotlight. He cares for his roughly 60,000-acre ranch in Wyoming during his free time. According to The Guardian, he got the LeBar Ranch from his grandfather, who ran a successful sheep and cattle farm for many years.
Rumors have circulated that oil companies may be fracking on the 60,000-acre property, but neither Georges nor RuPaul have addressed the media reports. According to their neighbors, the couple reportedly has little control over whether fracking occurs on their property.

“Unless you own 100 percent of the fossil fuel rights under your land — and the vast majority of ranches don’t — you can’t prohibit oil and gas development. You don’t have a choice,” Jay Butler, a fourth-generation rancher and owner of the 18,000-acre Robinson Ranch, told The Guardian. “If you drive north out of Douglas, all the ranches are involved with the oil industry.”
