Lady Gaga Sued By Dog Theft Accomplice Who Returned Her Pets For Not Paying $500,000 Reward

Lady Gaga is facing a lawsuit from an accomplice in the February 2021 theft of her two dogs that resulted in her dog walker being shot and critically wounded.

Jennifer McBride, the person who returned Gaga’s dogs Koji and Gustav, has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the 36-year-old Grammy Award winner for failing to pay the $500,000 reward she had promised, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

According to the lawsuit, McBride believes Gaga’s “no questions asked” offer was made “with the intent to defraud and induce members of the public, such as Plaintiff, to rely upon it and to act upon said promise by locating and delivering Lady Gaga’s bulldogs to Defendants.”

An attorney for Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. When she was one of five people detained in connection with the crime in April 2021, McBride was dating Harold White, another accomplice and the father of Jaylin White. James Jackson, Lafayette Whaley, and Jaylin all took part in the heist and shooting.
