With the sharing of a picture showing star Joaquin Phoenix in the arms of Lady Gaga, director Todd Phillips has revealed a fresh look from the upcoming film “Joker: Folie A Deux.”
“Happy Valentines Day,” reads Phillips’ succinct Instagram caption. The photo serves as the public’s first glimpse of Gaga in the picture. According to Variety, Gaga also posted the picture on her own social media accounts.
According to reports, Gaga is portraying the DC Comics character Harley Quinn, a psychiatrist who develops feelings for the Joker before adopting his sinister methods.

Margot Robbie had previously portrayed Quinn in the ‘Suicide Squad’ films and ‘Birds of Prey’. Kaley Cuoco voices the character on the ongoing HBO Max animated series ‘Harley Quinn.’ In August of last year, Gaga made her participation in the “Joker” sequel official. The movie is thought to be a musical.
The first “Joker” from Phillips was a critical and financial success in 2019, becoming the most successful R-rated movie ever. A prominent contender at the year’s Academy Awards, it garnered 11 nominations, including victories for Joaquin Phoenix for best actor and Hildur Guonadottir for best original score. It won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
The shocking popularity of “Joker” rapidly sparked rumours about a follow-up. The newly established DC Studios and its co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have mostly ignored Phillips’ concept, despite the fact that the DC media environment has changed since the original movie. The next DC movies’ ongoing storylines won’t be affected by the “Joker” sequel.
