Mike Blowers is an American former Major League Baseball player and television analyst. Mike Blowers was born on April 24, 1964, in Wurzburg, Germany, since his father was a member of the United States Army.
Blowers played with the Seattle Mariners for ten years. He also spent time with the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Blowers excelled in sports at Bethel High School in Spanaway, Washington. He was a standout in baseball and basketball. He went to Gonzaga University and was named West Coast Conference Player of the Year in 1986. The Seattle Mariners selected him in the tenth round of the 1986 Major League Baseball Draft.
The Mariners gave Blowers his Major League debut in April 1989. He rapidly became known for his strong defense and clutch hitting. Blowers played most of his career at third base and, on occasion, first base.
He was a key figure in the Mariners’ remarkable playoff run in 1995. He hit a grand slam in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Indians.
