The season finale on Wednesday had a lot of unexpected turns. The death of Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie), who was killed while trying to uncover the plan against her school, was one of its most stunning revelations. Weems, though, might have a plan in mind: according to Christie, the character might appear in the show.
The day on Wednesday has been fantastic. Jenna Ortega plays the lead in the Netflix series, which recently shattered another viewing record. In a recent production of The Addams Family starring Ortega, Wednesday Addams is presented as a teenage girl attending Nevermore Academy, a boarding institution for social outcasts. She learns that the school is full of mysteries, and Wednesday questions and dislikes Weems the most during the season.

Christie hinted that fans haven’t yet seen the last of Principal Weems in an interview with Digital Spy. When asked what would happen to her character, she slyly said, “She hasn’t been buried yet; have we seen that? I had the impression that Larissa Weems wouldn’t be ready to entertain or be controlled by anything as ordinary as death.”
She went on to discuss the motivations and mentality of her character, saying, “Larissa, in my opinion, is doing her best to embrace the entire world. I believe she took that gamble, which tragically resulted in her death. […] She is firmly established as an outsider.
Thus, she has a healthy disdain for normies and those who live in the normie society. She’s also smart enough, in my opinion, to realize that she wants the normies and the outcasts at Nevermore to get along well because she knows that this is what she wants for the community as a whole.”
It’s unclear what this means for Wednesday’s second season, should it be approved. In the season finale, it is revealed that Principal Weems merely wanted what was best for her school and that Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci), and Laurel Gates, were the real culprit behind the crimes around the school.
Gates then seems to kill Weems with a needle. Thornhill then brings back her pilgrim ancestor to wreck havoc on the school before Wednesday, who is grieving Weems, intervenes.
One of Wednesday’s most excellent characters was Weems. Christie commands attention from the moment she enters the scene. She and Ortega complement each other so well, and it is undoubtedly possible for her role in the series to grow.
Principal Weems had a mystical quality that wasn’t fully addressed in season 1. There is a history between her, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), and Gomez (Luis Guzman), with Weems allegedly harboring resentment toward Morticia. The series only briefly mentions that topic; it is not thoroughly discussed. The portrayal of Nevermore Academy on Wednesday also occasionally felt constricting, although Christie’s performance never lagged.
