Spider-Man 2 PS5 console covers appear to be the latest hot-ticket item for Sony fans, with pre-order stock selling out within minutes of being live.
Today was the first day for Spider-Man fans to pre-order the new console plates and DualSense, which are themed on the upcoming Spider-Man 2 PS5 exclusive.
PS5 owners in the West can now upgrade their consoles (even without purchasing a new device) for the first time, thanks to Spider-Man 2 console covers.
And, with the symbiote-themed DualSense controller being one of the best-looking gamepads, it’s easy to see why these goods are flying off the shelves.
Spider-Man 2 PS5 Console Covers Sold Out
Only minutes after the new Spider-Man console covers and DualSense controller were made available, PlayStation Direct, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and other retailers reported being out of stock.
Surprisingly, PlayStation Direct went live just before its scheduled start time of 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET, causing both the DualSense controller and console covers for Disc and Digital PS5s to sell out faster than expected.
Both pages now notify that the product is ‘Currently Unavailable.’ Other shops quickly followed suit after PS Direct went live. However, it didn’t take long for all sites to run out of stock.
Even though shoppers were only allowed to buy one of each item at numerous merchants, there wasn’t nearly enough stock to match demand.
The same can be said about the launch in the United Kingdom, which occurred early this morning. The console covers and controller sold out in 12 minutes at 10 a.m. BST. However, the PS5 combo is still available.
Fans who want the console cover and Spider-Man 2 PS5 DualSense can still purchase them in the limited edition console combo.
This package includes a PS5 Disc Edition (with new plates), a Spider-Man DualSense, and a digital copy of Spider-Man 2. The combo, however, is not cheap, costing fans $599.99.
