The Rookie is no longer a new show on TV. It is now in its fourth season on ABC. Alexi Hawley, who created the show, and Nathan Fillion, who plays the main character, have worked together before on the ABC show Castle.

“Officer John Nolan has to spend a week in solitary confinement with a young local officer who needs some training in a quiet border town. Sergeant Bradford and Officer Chen, on the other hand, find out that looks can be deceiving and decide to go undercover in a possible drug trafficking case together.”
Alan Tudyk is set to appear in the episode, so it will be like a Firefly reunion.
The Plot of The Rookie season 4
The main idea of The Rookie is that John Nolan decides to become an LAPD officer after an event that changes his life. The only problem is that he is in his 40s, which makes him the oldest new officer. Not only does he have to get used to his new job, but he also has to persuade his coworkers that this isn’t just a midlife crisis gone too far.
It’s safe to say that John has done that now that three seasons have passed. Now we get to see him and his team of cops go up against some of LA’s most dangerous criminals. This includes what happened in the season three finale, when crime boss Sandra de La Cruz, also known as “La Fiera,” got out of jail and kidnapped Angela before her wedding to Wes.
In the promo for The Rookie, the team finds Angela at a compound in Guatemala and heads there to save her. This is where season 4 will pick up. A radio call for an officer down, however, makes it seem like not everyone will make it out safely.
