Pierce Brosnan, Helena Bonham Carter, And Gabriel Byrne To Star In Irish Romance Four Letters Of Love Filming In Ireland

The Irish romance will star Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter. “Four Letters of Love,” directed by Polly Steele. Based on the best-selling book by Niall Williams, the movie will star Brosnan and Bonham Carter as the parents of destined lovers, played by upcoming actor Fionn O’Shea.  (“Dance First”) and Ann Skelly (“The Nevers”). Gabriel Byrne will also star in the film.

A synopsis provided for the film is as follows: “Nicholas Coughlan (O’Shea) and Isabel Gore (Skelly) are fated to be together. The question is whether or not they will ever find out. As ghosts, fate and the sheer power of true love pull Nicholas and Isabel together, so too does life threaten to tear them apart.”

The Ireland-set movie debuts in the wake of several productions from the Emerald Isle receiving significant awards acclaim, including  “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “The Quiet Girl.”

The project will be introduced during the European Film Market, which will take place in February in conjunction with the Berlinale, and Cornerstone will manage global sales and distribution. In Australia and New Zealand, the release will be managed by The Reset Collective.
“Four Letters of Love”  is a production of Port Pictures, AX1 Films, and Genesius Productions. Martina Niland and Debbie Gray, both nominees for the BAFTA Award, co-produce the film.

The movie will start filming in February in Northern Ireland with funding from Northern Ireland Screen before travelling to the Republic of Ireland. Before Williams adapted it for the big screen, his 1997 novel had already been published in more than 30 different languages.

Production designer John Leslie, director of photography Damien Elliot, costume designer Susan Scott, hair and makeup artist Natalie Reid, and editor Chris Gill ACE is among the department heads.

Gray said of the project; “I’m thrilled to be bringing this beautiful piece of work from writer Niall Williams and director Polly Steele to the screen. A seminal piece of Irish literature and I couldn’t be more pleased with the cast and creative team that have joined us on this journey.”
