Nicolas Cage As Dracula In Renfield Trailer: Renfield, the tortured valet of Nicolas Cage’s Dracula, is portrayed by Nicholas Hoult. Additionally, playing supporting parts are Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and Adrian Martinez.
The film is a modern-day satire of Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel. Renfield watches as the devoted disciple of Dracula changes into a patient ant-hero. Hoult plays Renfield as the distressed assistant to Dracula, history’s most arrogant boss (Cage).
Universal Pictures give the conventional coupling of these two characters in a horror movie a new spin. When Renfield is forced to catch his master’s prey and obey his orders, viewers will see the ultimate violation of work/life balance in the film.
In the trailer, which portrays Hoult as a broken and sad Renfield undergoing group therapy, the movie’s stellar cast is emphasized. As the film continues, Renfield finds himself involved in a theft and is forced to utilize the powers Dracula gifted him to stop the murder of police officer Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).
The sneak look ends amusingly and dramatically as Cage’s Dracula appears during the group therapy session. The therapy group members are speechless as they observe Renfield squatting on the ground as his master flies through the air.
The movie is written and directed by Chris McKay, whose prior credits include Rick & Morty and Ghosted (The Tomorrow War, The LEGO Batman Movie). Robert Kirkman, the author of The Walking Dead and Invincible, conceived the original concept for the film.
Renfield is the most recent development in Cage’s Hollywood comeback, which has seen the actor acclaimed for roles in everything from Mandy to The Unbearable Weight Of Talent. Hoult has recently taken on more serious roles in The Banker and Those Who Wish Me Dead thanks to his expertise on the big screen, in addition to playing Hank/Beast like in the Fox X-Men franchise movies.
Renfield is slated to debut in UK theaters in April.
