Uzumaki is based on Junji Ito’s bestselling horror manga of the same name, which is widely regarded as a master of the genre. Kurouzu-cho, a small coastal village, is the setting for the story. Kirie Goshima leads a routine life in this sleepy village until she finds her boyfriend’s father looking at a snail shell.
