In the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Daniel McCaffery is expected to win. The race was called at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Associated Press.
McCaffery, a Superior Court judge, contested for the Democratic nomination against fellow Superior Court Judge Deborah Kunselman. Before the primary, McCaffery received support from the state Democratic Party.
The state Supreme Court now has a 4-2 liberal majority and one vacancy, therefore the general election will be widely monitored.

Democrats will have a commanding majority if McCaffery wins in November. The Supreme Court in the critical swing state may hear challenges to the state’s election results in 2024, among other essential problems.
