Ken Deland Jr: American College Student Has Been Reported Missing In France

Ken DeLand Jr: According to a French official and the student’s family, an American college student who went missing last month while studying abroad in France is now safe and well in Spain. The last time Ken DeLand Jr. was seen or heard from was on November 27, when he used WhatsApp to contact his family.

According to Eric Vaillant, the public prosecutor in Grenoble, France, “DeLand was able to talk with his parents today,” and “he is apparently in Spain,” as reported by CBS News. On Friday, Ken DeLand Sr., his father, told CNN that he had just spoken to his son.

The page his family built to assist in spreading the word about the search now reads: “KENNY WAS FOUND, IT WAS. As soon as we have more details, we’ll update you! We appreciate everyone’s assistance in getting Kenny home.”

In a statement that was appended later on Friday morning, “We are thrilled to inform you that Kenny is safe; on December 16, 2022, early in the morning, he called to check-in. While his mother Carol is prepared to visit Kenny in Spain and possibly bring him home for Christmas, Kenny is in Spain.”
