Samsung Viewfinity S9 Release Date Revealed!

The 5K ViewFinity S9 will finally be available in South Korea, and despite its lower price, it has specs that compete directly with Apple’s Studio Display.

Those looking for Samsung’s new monitor outside South Korea must wait a little longer. However, its release reveals more information about the item and its market price.

The ViewFinity S9 will be available for pre-order on June 26 for $1.7 million won, according to a press statement translated from Korean on Samsung’s newsroom website. On July 3, it will be officially released.

$1.7 million won is roughly $1,299, or $300 less than the Studio Display. Furthermore, because Samsung’s monitor has a height-adjustable stand and a matte panel, it is $1,000 less expensive than Apple’s when configured accordingly.

Samsung Viewfinity S9 Release Date Revealed!

Jeong Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ video display group, commented on the ViewFinity S9 and its capabilities as a high-resolution monitor.

In the announcement, translated from Korean, he stated that Samsung would continue to set new standards for monitors by delivering solutions that meet the diverse needs of design professionals.

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 is one of the first third-party screens that can compete with Apple’s Studio Display. Even its design language appears to be influenced by Apple.

Both monitors include a 27-inch 5K resolution, a P3 color gamut, Thunderbolt 4 connectors, and embedded speakers. The Samsung ViewFinity S9 sports a higher-specced 4K webcam, an integrated app for viewing media such as streaming services, and a calibration engine that works through a smartphone app.
