Schwarzenegger MCU: Don Cheadle, who played a major role in Armor Wars, seemed befuddled when asked if Arnold Schwarzenegger would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Cheadle was recently interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Kimmel inquired about the rumors surrounding Schwarzenegger’s possible appearance in the MCU as Titanium Man. He didn’t understand the question and at first thought, it was a joke.
Cheadle stated that he was completely unfamiliar with Titanium Man. Cheadle, recalling Schwarzenegger, said, “He, uh, I don’t think so. When I see him again, I’ll be sure to ask.”
A rumor began circulating in the summer of 2022 that Schwarzenegger would play Titanium Man, the film’s antagonist. The Titanium Man was conceived by Stan Lee and Don Heck and debuted in Tales of Suspense #69 in 1965. Titanium Man, or Boris Bullski as he is known in the comics, is a former KGB agent who devised a titanium suit to fight Iron Man and the United States.
Titanium Man could emerge from Russia or even another country, like Schwarzenegger’s native Austria, to challenge Rhodey, and the fact that Cheadle’s War Machine has also gone by the alias Iron Patriot suggests that Armor Wars could explore a similar story.
Rhodey’s Rebirth In Armor Wars
James Rhodes/War Machine has been played by Don Cheadle since 2010’s Iron Man 2, and he’s excited to delve deeper into the role in the upcoming film. He noted that most Marvel Cinematic Universe viewers have only seen Rhodey in the company of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man or the other members of the Avengers, so he’s looking forward to showing fans what he’s like when he’s on his own.
“It’s like a second chance,” the actor said. Even though we’ve spent a lot of time with this character, I feel like we’re just getting to know him now that we’re revisiting some of the territories he’s never been to before on the show.

Although Armor Wars was announced as a Disney+ series, Marvel has revealed that it will now be a feature film. Executive producer at Marvel Studios Nate Moore said the show’s original concept was scrapped because it was too grandiose for television.
Moore gushed about the new possibilities afforded by the increased budget, saying, “Our Disney+ shows are awesome, and we love them, but the budgets are not the same as the features, that’s no secret.”
